Scam cover for your family

Protect your parents from scams.

Cover for the people who covered you.

PonchoGuard is protection built around the family, for parents who don't want to be babysat. Mom checks anything suspicious in one tap and gets a plain answer. The family hears about it only when it matters.

People over 60 reported $7.75 billion in scam losses in 2025. Most scams follow the same few patterns, and a second set of eyes breaks them.

How it works

  1. Send it to PonchoGuard

Forward a suspicious text or email to PonchoGuard's number or address. No app needed, and it works on flip phones. Coming soon

  2. Get a plain answer

Scam, Suspicious or Looks OK. One sentence saying why, and one clear next step. No jargon.

  3. Family hears when it matters

If it is high risk, the family helpers get a text so someone can call. Everyday messages stay private.

What makes PonchoGuard different

PonchoGuard is being built now. These are the features families will get first.

  • Cosign

Before Mom pays, grants access or shares information, she can tap "Cosign this." A family member gets the details and taps Approve or Stop, call me. It never blocks her: she always has the final say.

  • Remote-Access Tripwire

Nearly every tech-support scam ends with the scammer taking over the computer. PonchoGuard for Windows notices when AnyDesk, TeamViewer or a similar tool opens, asks "Did someone call you and ask for this?" and tells the family.

  • "Is it really you?"

A call from "your grandson in jail"? One tap texts the real grandson: "Grandma says you're calling her. Is that you?"

  • Dignity Mode

The parent decides what the family sees. By default, helpers hear only about high-risk events, never every message.

The family circle

A family circle is the protected parent plus the people she trusts, usually her adult children. A family member sets it up; the parent keeps control.

  • The parent checks messages, asks for a Cosign, and chooses what the family may see.
  • Helpers get a text when something is high risk, can approve or stop a Cosign, and can set quiet hours.
  • Everyone in the circle can see which alerts were sent and to whom. Nothing happens behind anyone's back.
